The present article examines the concept of "Origin" (Mabda') and "Return" (Ma'ad) in the mystical thought of Ruhollah Mousavi Khomeini. In his worldview, existence is a continuous and purposeful movement that begins from the Origin (God) and ends in the Return (return to absolute perfection). Imam Khomeini, emphasizing the theory of the personal unity of existence, considers the world to be the manifestation of the Divine Essence; therefore, the Origin is a reality that has manifested itself in the mirrors of existence. In contrast, the Return is not merely an event after death, but a "reverse journey" from multiplicity to unity and the "elevation of the existential rank" of the wayfarer toward annihilation in God (fana fi Allah). The link between Origin and Return takes shape in the form of "journey from God to God" (sayr min Allah ila Allah), in which the Origin and the Return are two sides of a single reality. This article, using a descriptive-analytical method and relying on Khomeini's written works, especially Misbah al-Hidaya, Sharh-e Chehel Hadith, and his commentaries on Sharh Fusus al-Hikam, explains this ontological link.
