Abstract
Abstract
The present study aimed to extract and explain the components of family quality of life based on the teachings of Nahj al-Balagha and to present an independent, text-based conceptual model. This research was conducted using a qualitative method with an inductive content analysis approach. Data were collected from the sermons, letters, and sayings of Nahj al-Balagha. After coding concepts related to family life, five main dimensions of family quality of life were identified: ethics and spirituality, marital relations, child rearing, psychological tranquility of the family, and social responsibility. The findings indicate that, in Imam Ali’s perspective, family quality of life is rooted more in inner moral reform, dignity, justice, patience, and social responsibility than in material factors. The proposed model can serve as an indigenous framework for future theoretical and applied research in the field of family studies.
