Abstract
A shared concern of Islam and the life sciences is preserving community health, including individual nutrition. One type of nourishment is meat, and how it should be consumed to maintain human health. Therefore, this research seeks to answer the question: What solutions have the Quran and the Ahl al-Bayt (AS), as models of Islam, introduced for eliminating contaminants from Halal meat? In answer to this question, it must be said that Islamic teachings provide useful and effective strategies for the nutritional health of individuals, emphatically prescribing the consumption of Halal meat and outlining its proper hunting, slaughter, washing, cooking, and consumption. They also instruct on how contaminants such as worms and parasites in meat are eliminated. This study attempted, through interdisciplinary research in Islamic history and biology, utilizing library and laboratory science methods, to identify this biological process in Halal meat from the perspective of the Quran and the Ahl al-Bayt (AS). The research result showed that all these contaminants, which lead to zoonotic diseases (diseases shared between humans and animals), can be eliminated through these strategies and are demonstrable through life sciences.
